Simple return turns into stalling efforts and unreasonable demands
I simply want to return these parts (NGK spark plug leads) which do not work for my car (Volvo 850), Trodo still believes they are the correct part of my car. I do not believe Trodo has the right parts info myself, but I do not care either way. The parts do not work in my car for whatever reason. And yes they are fitted correctly, the car runs correctly with them, but gives misfires when driving more than a mile. The CEL light comes on after a short while of driving the car and I get error codes reporting misfires on cylinders 2-5. I read the codes with an OBD2 reader app. I put the original leads back, they are worn and taped but they at least work, error codes have not come back, CEL light does not come back on. I've had the original leads back on for over a week by now. I ordered these on Dec 5th, reported the error Dec 25th and was told to file a claim on the 29th which I did a few days later. I do not understand why Trodo is treating me as if I am trying to scam them. This endeavour has cost me time and will cost me money even if I get refunded and sent back. They say I must take a photo of the product yes OK here it is, I put everything back already in the package, hoping to send it back quickly. This is reasonable. Oh no that photo is not good enough you have to take it like this, unpack the product and take a new photo. Fine OK I can also do that, it makes sense I guess. Oh no that will not be enough you have to install the parts back in your car, then make the error codes come back and take a photo of the error codes that come up in my OBDII reader app. This is going too far.... It's at this point I am getting misgivings, it feels like they are trying to wear me down. I doubt they will buy a screen dump of the phone screen even if I reinstall the leads and replicate the error again. I might as well just have faked that somehow right? And maybe after that they'll ask me to also take a photo of the CEL light... I bet even if I do all this they will find more stuff for me to do. Trodo is fine as long as you never have to return anything. I'll be avoiding Trodo like the plague in the future. I likely spend hundreds of euros every year on car parts, so good for them saving a bit more than 50 euros here. I will also be writing of my experience on all the car community sites I am part of. I am sure this will pay off for you in the long run.
