My experience with Bumble was extremely disappointing. I was paying for Bumble Premium and had a fully Photo Verified account, with a profile that honestly reflected who I am and had already gone through Bumble’s own verification process. While chatting with another user, they accused me of using AI-generated photos, and after I unmatched them, my account was permanently blocked within minutes for supposedly having an “inauthentic profile.” The timing felt very questionable, and it made me think the account may have been hit by a false or retaliatory report. What was even more frustrating was how Bumble handled everything after that. I explained the situation and pointed out that my account had passed Photo Verification, but my appeal was still rejected. Bumble said they had done a thorough investigation, yet they never explained what exactly about my profile was considered inauthentic. Instead, I got a generic policy-based reply and then a message saying the decision was final. On top of losing access to my account, I was also locked out of a Premium subscription I had already paid for. I agree that dating apps should crack down on fake profiles and scammers, but real users should still be treated fairly, given clear reasons, and offered a meaningful chance to clear up misunderstandings. A paying, Photo Verified customer can apparently lose access without ever being told what went wrong or being allowed another appeal. Whether this came from an inaccurate report or Bumble’s moderation system, the lack of transparency and support was incredibly disappointing, and I’ve completely lost confidence in Bumble.
